Let’s start with the basics first….
What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are aromatic, potent, highly concentrated botanical extracts that can be found in flowers, trees, roots, leaves, and seeds. Research has shown that they EO (essential oils) contain many healing and medicinal properties. EOs can also calm the mind, lift the spirit, energize, and/or relax. These awesome plant oils smell wonderful and I have no doubts you will love using them as much as I do!!
EOs can be used alone or in blends of oils to increase effectiveness. You will want to be sure you are using high quality oils. Sometimes companies will manufacture more inexpensive essential oils by using chemical extraction, using a using a high heat distillation which will cause the medicinal purposes of the oil to be compromised, and by adding synthetics to the oils.
Why Do I Use Essential Oils?
EOs can be used for your health and wellbeing, to make healthy bath and body products, to make chemical free household cleaners, for pet care, and can even be used in cooking!
EOs are highly beneficial for your body and well-being. EOs sink in and work with our bodies own immune system. Just a few of the benefits of EOs include: they are immune enhancing, they support the body’s natural defenses, they aid in maintaining cellular regeneration, they are mood elevating, they are high in antioxidants, they are oxygenating, and they boost stamina and energy. There are so many benefits to using EOs that I sure cannot list them all.
Essential oils have been used medicinally for thousands of years. In fact, there are 188 references to essential oils and their uses in the Christian Bible as well as other ancient texts.
Why Young Living Essential Oils?
You might be surprised to learn that the Food and Drug Administration only requires 10% essential oil in the bottle to be considered “Pure Essential Oil’. Beware of claims of FDA certification; the FDA has no certification of approval process for these products.
Young Living extracts their EOs from the plant with a low heat distillation (this preserves the medicinal properties of the oils) with the exception of citrus oils which are cold pressed. This is the quality you want to use for your health and your family!!
How Do I Get Started With My Essential Oils?
Anyone can get started using EOs safely with some basic information and a starter kit of commonly used oils and blends. I recommend the Premium Starter Kit! It’s a great value and includes 11 oils, plus a home diffuser. You can click on the following link to sign up today.
